The doubling of the edges

This restoration work requires prior preparation of a mould.

The doubling of the edges consists in planing the circumference of the table or the back over a width of more or less 2.5 cm, , to replace it with a new piece of matching wood.

Unfortunately, some instruments have been opened with little care, and the edges are damaged. When too many pieces are missing, doubling the edges is the best way to proceed, so that the ribs fit perfectly to the front and back.
